Overview
To create an app to accomplish arriving at a destination in a timely manner for a public transit user who needs way-finding to assist with the use of transportation.
Problem
People are finding difficulty in finding the best routes to get around the city with the TTC.
Research
My research first started with a one-on-one interview with several individuals, Jordan, Kadijah, Veronica, Allyssa, and Enas getting to understand their outlook on their transportation and the TTC.
Getting Closer to User-Centered Design
Defining key motivations through a persona.
User Journey Map
By creating and exploring the journey maps of Alex’s persona and his typical day, I was able to create a journey that Find Your Way needs to address.
Understanding What Users Find Intuitive, and Why
Creating rough sketches of the Find Your Way app to see which layout is working for what the app is intented for.
Low-fidelity prototype
Created a low-fidelity version of the app in black and white to focus on the flow and the function of the app.
Solution
Find Your Way is a way-finding app that assists users to find where they are going by providing images of the exact locations of the stops, and vehicles that would be located. By doing so, the public transit user will have an easier time getting to where they are headed without being lost or confused.
